About Us

Welcome To WritersBlock

Writers Block is a group of Bengali authors writing in English. Most of us are writing for our own satisfaction, as there are almost no outlets in this country for getting commercially published. The group was originally formed to allow members to savage one another on a regular basis. The weak were ritually slaughtered and eaten. Consequently, only very powerful individuals are left. All of the pieces on this website, published or otherwise, are written by our members, and display the range of what we are capable of.
This website is purely for our amusement, and has no commercial purpose. Enjoy.

WritersBlock is-

  • A space to be creative
  • A place to share ideas
  • A pace maker
  • A race to submit stories in time
  • A face for bengali writers
  • An ace in the back pocket
  • A case of beers to get the mind frolicking
  • A bass guitar in my head
  • A chase to capture fleeting feelings with words
  • An erased childhood and regressive hypnosis
  • A hasty attempt to define a process
  • A tasty divergence from the rhyme
  • A pasty moment to remember forever
  • The glue that makes characters stick
  • The magic that makes plots unforgettable
  • The details that make settings intriguing
  • The words that make stories dance.
Writers Block is a place to hang out with people who share a passion; who struggle with the same challenges of how to juggle "real" careers, the conflicting demands of family and social ties, and the eternal attempts to juggle the component parts of what make up a life in a way that allows sufficient head-space to think and write! At its best, it is a place where you can put on display a piece of your soul in the knowledge that you will be, in some way, nourished as a writer - strengthened by the feedback provided by colleagues and friends, and heartened by their efforts to help you develop your skills. It is a place to learn, sometimes from what is not said as much as from what is. And ultimately, it is the kind of place that every writer should have...
